What workshops are offered?

Each student will get to select the workshops they wish to participate in.

Past workshops have included building a test light, making hand cream, hair styling, assessing a crime scene, using a dog hydro-wash, planting seedlings, building a bird house and more!

Areas that run workshops vary depending on the campus and he date your school chooses to participate in. Past Experience Day workshops have include the following,

Plumbing, Hairdressing, Electrical, Building and Construction, Bakery, Allied Health Music, Engineering, Animal Studies, Horticulture,Visual Merchandising, Automotive, Commercial Cookery, Children's Services, Security, Justice, Nursing and more!

What if I just want to participate in one workshop?

If you are registering as an individual then that's fine. 
Just select the workshop you are interested in and the session time you would like to undertake when registering for the Experience Day of your choosing.

School groups must participate in all 3 workshops to ensure students are under constant supervision and that class number minimums are met.

Schedule

At each Experience Day, we run three sessions per day, with various workshops running during each session. 

Individual participants
When you register online you will be prompted to select the workshops you are interested in and sessions (times) you would like to complete them in. You can participate in all 3 workshop sessions or if only one area interests you then just the one session.

School groups
Once you have registered your school group you will be contacted by a member of our team via email with a workshop selection form that you will need to complete and return.
This form outlines the names of the students you will be bringing to Experience Day and their chosen 3 workshop.

One week prior to the Experience Day your school group is attending we will send you a class list outlining the workshop times for each student. 

Students from a school groups must participate in all 3 sessions and cannot sit out or campus wander.

Experience Day session schedule:
10.30am – 11.30am: workshop session 1
11.30am – 12.30pm: workshop session 2
12.30pm - 1.00pm   – Lunch Break
1.00 - 2.00pm: workshop session 3

Why get involved?

Our Experience Day are exciting interactive events that gives students and members of the general public a taste of what studying at TAFE involves.

Each campus that hosts an Experience Day showcases the study areas offered onsite through a variety of different workshops.

By participating in an Experience Day you are given a front row seat to meet the teacher, explore the campuses and get hands-on in one hour interactive workshops designed to give participants a taste of what studying in a specific field can involve.
