Many of our students come to Australia with English as a second language, and choose to enrol with Kangan Institute to improve their skills.

Studying both written and spoken communications can be an incredibly useful tool to not only further your job prospects, but to also meet like-minded people and build lasting friendships along the way.

can now stay in the program longer and the previous 510-hour cap has been removed. People who were previously not eligible may now be eligible.
  • you can now access unlimited hours of English classes until you reach vocational English
  • you can apply to enrol, even if you’ve enrolled in AMEP before and have been living in Australia for many years
  • you can keep studying, even if you’ve completed 510 hours (the previous limit), until you reach vocational English

COURSES WE OFFER

VCAL >

If you haven't completed year 10 or have been out of school for a while, our VCAL Foundation will help you get back on the right track. VCAL is designed to help improve your Literacy, Numeracy, Work Ready and Communication skills, as well as preparing you to become job/course ready or commence further study.
ADULT LITERACY AND NUMERACY >

These courses are intended to support development of the literacy and numeracy skills of learners with intellectual disabilities.
WORK EDUCATION >

These courses are designed for students with special learning needs to prepare them for employment.
TESOL >

Do you have a strong grasp of the English Language and desire to share your knowledge with others? This nationally recognised qualification provides people with practical skills in teaching English to speakers of other languages.
TRAINING AND ASSESSMENT >

If you have a passion for teaching others in an educational or corporate environment the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116) will give you the skills and knowledge to turn your passion into a career.
POLICE ENTRANCE EXAM PREPARATION >

Equip yourself with the confidence and skills needed to undertake your Victorian Police Entrance Exam and progress on your pathway to becoming a police officer
ADULT MIGRANT ENGLISH PROGRAM (AMEP) >

These courses are designed for students from a non-English speaking background to develop the English language skills needed to continue to other English as a Second Language (ESL) courses at a higher level, enrol in a mainstream course, or find employment.
AUSTRALIAN DEFENCE FORCE PREPARATION >

This course is designed for those who have not completed a Year 10 level or who need to get a Year 10 level in order to join the Australian Defence Force. Depending on what subjects you require to join the ADF, you will enrol in either one  subject  or a combination of English, Maths and Science.
SKILLS FOR WORK AND VOCATIONAL PATHWAYS >
