An apprenticeship is a great way to combine structured training and paid employment. If you undertake an apprenticeship, you’ll be able take your Kangan Institute training directly into the workplace and continue to refine your skills.

Automotive Centre of Excellence (ACE)
Kangan Institute’s Automotive Centre of Excellence (ACE), located in the Docklands precinct, is the largest and most advanced training facility in the Southern Hemisphere.

At ACE, Kangan Institute offers a range of nationally-accredited TAFE qualifications and short courses. This includes light and heavy vehicles, outdoor power equipment, marine mechanics, motorcycles and motorsport. Specialised training plans are also developed to address unique needs, with flexible learning options including on-site training.

COURSES WE OFFER

MECHANICAL >

These courses provide knowledge and skills in the field of light vehicle mechanics. Open doors to employment within the automotive industry, specifically for light vehicles and business ownership.
AIR CONDITIONING >

This course covers the automotive skills and knowledge required to perform a range of tasks related to servicing and repairing air conditioning components and systems of cars and heavy vehicles.
ELECTRICAL >

Gain skills in all aspects of the automotive electrical trade with a nationally recognised qualification.
The course covers health and safety, customer relations and using tools, repairing, servicing and testing all the elements of electrical systems.
MOTORSPORT >

In this course you will learn how to operate in a motorsport environment, service petrol fuel systems and inspect and service transmissions and engines. Suitable students will be offered the opportunity to undertake work placement and are encouraged to seek your own work placement opportunities.
SALES >

This parts interpreting course places a strong emphasis on understanding automotive components, accessing information, managing databases and customer relations.
MOTORCYCLE >

This comprehensive course is for motorcycle apprentices who want to become fully qualified tradespersons. It covers the servicing, repairing and testing procedures of components.
HEAVY VEHICLE (MECHANICAL) >

These courses will equip you with hands-on practical skills and introduce you to the correct tools to maintain, repair and diagnose heavy vehicle engines and equipment.
HEAVY VEHICLE (SERVICING) >

These courses will train you to work in the Heavy Vehicle Servicing industry. You will be equipped with the skills and knowledge to competently carry out service, repair and diagnostic procedures within the Heavy Vehicle services and repairs sector.
